HONNE (本音) is a literary watercolor graphic novel project set in contemporary Tokyo, exploring love, solitude, and the spaces between what we feel and what we reveal.
The 35 pages presented here form a self-contained story with an open ending. Originally created for online presentation during the Tokyo BD Festival 2026, they also represent the opening sequence of a larger 140-page graphic novel project.
The complete structure of HONNE has been developed, and the full storyboard is currently being finalized. Certain aspects of the characters’ backgrounds and emotional journeys, intentionally suggested in this opening sequence, gradually unfold throughout the complete graphic novel.
